.
Anyway this post is something I want to do for quite a while a what better to start off with the first post on 2009.
Well, Firefox is extremely fast and furious if you were to compare with IE7 (IE8 beta 2 is even worse
). But if you want to make it even faster you can try these tips and see for yourself whether it works for you.
Let’s go though the steps:-
- Open up your browser and type about:config on the address
- Look out for “network.http.pipelining” and “network.http.proxy.pipelining”.
- Change both default values from FALSE to TRUE.
- Next right click at anywhere from the browser and click “Create New” > “Integer”.
- Type nglayout.initialpaint.delay as the name.
- Insert 0 (that is zero is numeric) as the default value.
- Restart Firefox.
What the steps actually does are :-
- It helps to load streaming videos faster
- No lag in online games
- Increase the speed of browsing and downloading

You did not want to end the day with stiff necks and shoulders …. wouldn’t you.

If you are working on a Microsoft Office 2003 or earlier suite on your laptop and you wanted to perform operations like opening, editing and saving your documents, spreadsheets and presentations with the file formats of Office 2007 …… now you can.
The tip is to download and install the Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack.
With this tool, you can retain the current Microsoft Office suite that you are using plus the ability to perform your works on the Microsoft Office 2007 based files.
How do you if it is a Microsoft Office 2007 format?
Simple ….. anything that ends with an “x” alphabet like (.docx for words), (.xlsx for excel) and (.pptx for powerpoint) are the xml based and the new Microsoft Office 2007 file formats.
It would great if you have the full featured Office 2007 suite as you can enjoy a feature-rich product with a lot of great enhancements.
Laptop Users Good Practise (Part 1)
It is true ….. it’s damn true (Hey I’m not a mimic Kurt Angel infamous phrase am I?
)
Anyway here’s the truth.
We, laptop users - myself included, need to give us time for some breaks as and when neccessary; while working our heart and soul for long hours while using the laptop.
This good practice applies to those using the desktops as well ……
What type of break, you might wonder?
Stretching yourself is a good start.
I say ….. after every 30 to 45 minutes on the laptop, you must make it a habit to stretch yourself.
This will improve your mind and allows good blood circulation to the laptop users while working long hours (and hopefully remains fresh) when using the laptop, be it for work or play.
By doing some of these neck stretching exercises, you’ll be surprised that you feel better and NOT tired after that.
Try it ….. and I’ll be back soon to give more laptop good practices so you will enjoy your time working on your laptop.
