Linux Laptop Challenge
Yeah, as ever, I can’t be satisfied with Microsoft Windows yet again.
I’ve tried 2 distributions of Linux so far, Vector and PC Linux OS, which seem to be a downward spiral and somehow or rather, I failed and went back to Windows.
This time around I will be a bit precautious in my next act.
I’ve been reading a lot about Wine and stuffs on how you could actually get Windows application on Linux platforms and this time around I’ll be doing a lot more research before I “walk the plank” .
There’s a couple of distros that might attract me so far …. Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Sabayon and Puppy Linux.
(Note : Most of them are on Gnome)
I prefer KDE environment actually but having tried both the latter and XFE (Vector Linux), I will try my luck on this environment this time around.
Hopefully it will work OK (for the third time of my experience) and if you have any suggestions on which distro I should install on my laptop, drop me a comment …… best yet (which distro has Wine running Windows applications perfectly).
Onward to the Penguin …. till next post.
Laptop Buying Guide (Part 2)
Truth to this, I think most visitors to this site might be saying “Why is Part 2 taking so long to be posted?”
Well I would like to apologize to those loyal readers out there but my health wasn’t up to par for the posting of the Part 2. Kinda had a flu bug attack which has kept me bedridden for about a week (it’s ultra difficult then) but I’m better now and this post will kinda serve a useful purpose.
There are actually 10 things to look at a notebook and I’m going to share them with you.
Well here it goes ……..
Installing Ubuntu Linux On Your Laptop
That’s right. Linux. You heard me right.
When come to Linux in particular, most people tend to stay away from the predicament that it might not be able to be installed on a notebook.
Though most people are quite satisfied with their ultra buggy Microsoft Windows operating system, this post could be a breakaway for the who want feel the new life without Windows.

Alexander Grim has complied great videos and I’ll be sharing them to you via this post in getting yourself started with the installation of Ubuntu Linux on a Dell Inspirion notebook.
Help! My PC Screwed Me
Ever get that feeling when you have so much data and suddenly one day your desktop pc or notebook computer fails to respond.
It sucks …… down on upside (reminds me of the last Soundgarden album).
Well now, we have the luxury of Knoppix Live, a linux distribution which can be a saviour to your problem.
Next question one will ask, ” I don’t have any experience in Linux, how to do?”
