K-Office To Hit Windows Laptops?
Filed Under (Notebook Software) by Mohd Fauzi A Rahman on 08-10-2007
The popular KDE based office software, K-Office, is currently under development (alpha).
Though sources believed that it make sometime, my guts is telling it may be any sooner.
I’ve tried K-Office when I’m running Vector linux on my old Twinhead notebook and found it very impressive indeed.

Let’s check what K-Office have to provide you with …..

The above are such rich features for users who are not familiar with K-Office.
When I was trying out K-Office, it only supported one format only ….. and that is the K format.
Now, the developers are constantly improving their development of this software and till now it have support formats coming from softwares like AbiWord, OpenOffice.org and some Microsoft Office formats.
Not forgetting the PDF export feature, just like OpenOffice.org, it is built in the K-Office infrastructure.
Just like OpenOffice.org, K-Office provides enriched features to their users. While most will still stick to Microsoft Office, it will sometime for K-Office to stabilize and be an impact to the Windows platform.
My friend recently e-mailed me his screenshot on his testing on K-Word ( document writing) on his Windows notebook ….
Check it out below….

Disclaimer : Try K-Office at your laptop at your own risk… It’s is still at the alpha stage……
If you really want to try, click here to download.
What do you think? Will K-Office make the same impact as OpenOffice.org?
