Netbook : The Next Gamers Favorite
Netbook (or mini-notebook) sales are on the rise and far becoming the trend for normal users who may use for internet and office applications.
But for gaming? Hey …. that’s too much to ask.

However gamers are finding ways to use mini-notebooks as the new gaming machine. Sounds bizarre but it is true.
Here’s are some advantages I feel gamers may move their games from their desktops or laptops to the trendy item called the mini-notebooks.
- Battery Life - Not comparing with desktops but battery life in mini-notebooks last about 2 or 3 times longer than normal laptops.
- Light & Mobility - This is out of question if you were to compare with desktops but with laptops it is far a big advantage.
- Cost - If you compare with a desktop (I’m talking about a full set here which includes all of the components from monitor to cpu to speakers) and laptop; which one is cost effective? The netbook triumph on this one.
- Stylish - Design wise ….. no question.
And to backup the statements above, here is a video where a gamers uses an Acer Aspire One mini-notebook to play Left 4 Dead (one of best first-person shooter games of 2008 - do note Life 4 Dead 2 will be out this year on Nov17).
So for those with mini-notebooks …. your investment might be worthwhile after all
.

Thanks for another great post. I read your blog regularly, and it’s always interesting.
Hi there ….. thanks for the compliments
Everyone can benefit from this info. Thanks for posting this. Will subscribe to your site.
Hey this is good stuff. So glad you posted this. I enjoy reading blogs like this.
Hrm. I think it really depends on what you’re playing. Often times, I find a lot of hardcore gamers go with larger laptops for precission.
This comes into play with screen size, keyboard size, and how quickly the computer can church out the game (e.g. 15 fps is gross). I can’t tell if it’s this computer lagging, or if it’s the YouTube video, but I can’t imagine Left 4 Dead being much fun the way I saw it …
Cool website, like what I have read. Will definitely be back to read again.
