When you hop around any computer stores this coming weekend, you will see the great graphic displays on the notebook computer these days that weren’t there yet a few years ago.

Now with the technology of XGA (Crystal Graphics Adapter), users can experience clear and sharp images from their notebooks.

Not at my time ….. when I purchased my first notebook ….. the Twinhead Efio 12KT.

It is built on TFT LCD (64 Mb Shared) which is not color rich as the current XGA screens.

One thing to note that some these XGA graphics require more shared RAM.

What does these means to the average users?

Microsoft - Windows Marketplace

Any LCD displays from any notebook require the physical RAM usage.

An example:-
If you bought a notebook which has 512 MB RAM and your current notebook has an ATI Radeon built in graphics which states 128 Mb Shared, this means your Windows system only system only supports the balance 384 MB RAM ….. that’s way too low if you going to use Windows Vista!

The average RAM usage for any display be it TFT or XGA is 64 MB.

The higher the “Shared RAM”, the better the graphics …… this is an advantage to gamers out there who prefer to use their notebook for gaming.

The more important thing is to have more physical RAM in your notebook, the more the merrier.

Trust me …… it will make your system lighter and ease the amount of frustration for you while working on the computer.
