Laptop Cordless Mouse : A Good Invesment?
Filed Under (Notebook Hardware, Notebook Reviews) by Mohd Fauzi A Rahman on 11-11-2007
Well being a tech geeky, I’ve been changing my gears quite a lot recently and I believed on of my well-spent investment is the cordless mouse.
Why?
I was at an Internet community gathering yesterday and I was observing the rest of my friends out there with their ultra powerful notebook computers and sadly enough their ultra-long wired corded mice.
You’ve might think I’m looking down on them ……
Seriously that’s not the case.
Let me explain………
When I first started out learning my way around the computer system, building my first DIY desktop (5 years ago), I was in the same shoes as anyone else.
My experiences with corded mice sucks….. extremely down the drain, man…..
Back last month being tech savvy and cost conscious , I’ve bought a wired optical mouse which cost me a mere US$9. Great deal I suppose, but the damn mouse broke down after 2 weeks of using it. The optical sensor failed, the wire is a bit too long and the scrolling was the most frustrating.
It was through this bad experience and also other bad experiences before this, which I would not like to mentioned, that I’ve decided to get myself a Cordless mouse.
I was quite low on budget and was browsing through a list of mice in the one of the departmental store till I met the V220 by Logitech.

The Logitech V220 mouse is a mouse specifically directed to the notebook computer users. With a cost of US$35, for me it is a product well spent.
I’m currently spending more time on the notebook than my desktop. Meeting friends on gatherings, doing my projects based on the assignments that was tasked to me and updating my blog (my favorite MyBoxPro.com), it is important for me to feel comfortable while working on the notebook.
The feature I like the most is the comfortability of the mouse.
Not only it’s slick in design (with soft rubber grips at the side of the mouse), the scrolling feeling is perfect not to mention the “wire-free” convenience.
The USB key is portable and it hooks at the back of the mouse for ultra portability.
Battery operated using a AA alkaline battery ( provided by Logitech courtesy of Duracell), it can withstand 6 months of usage.
Other features which you might want to take note is the 1000dpi, meaning it 2.5 times more responsive than any ordinary mice out there and the zoom function which you can zoom in to your photos and spreadsheets horizontally or vertically.
Furthermore it came with a 3 year warranty.
V220 is the one of the budgeted mouse in the market and it helps a lot in my work .
What do you guys think? Is a cordless mouse a wise investment?

I have that very same mouse for my fiance and my laptop. We both swear by it. A compact with the Logitech Left/Right mousewheel buttons. Heaven.
Thanks for the comment.
I think it depends on the usage of each individual…. I’ve been using this for mouse for quite a while and it is almost perfect …. seemingly for the budget user….
