Laptop Buying Guide (Part 1)
Filed Under (Notebook Hardware) by Mohd Fauzi A Rahman on 20-10-2007
It comes to wonder to me that when a newbie is getting his/her very first laptop, he/she might not get the real deal.
I am sadden by the fact that the salesperson whom I’ve met doesn’t actually knows about the notebook itself, yet baffling the customer with a lot of lies which is what I usually observed. The most sadden part is customer actually bought the idea of the sales person!
I’m not blaming the sales person, on the other hand, his or her rice bowl actually depends on the sales.
One way or another there’s no one to blame actually.
My tips on this post should be a guide for newbies who want to get a notebook, especially with the festivities and sales going on soon enough…..
First as a consumer, there’s always 3 things which we normally think of
- Cost
- Design
- Purpose
Now let me elaborate more..
Cost - Normally the major factor as it determine our budget cause when you buy a notebook, it is a big investment that you will be making for the next 5 years or so.
Every individual will have their own budget when it comes to buying anything especially when it comes the notebook computer.
Next we view on design which is by far (from a consumer’s point of view) the outmost major factor in the buyer getting the notebook. My advice stick to your initial plan on which notebook computer you wanna buy or do a search on notebooks for a particular brand which you might like, ask advice from peers before you wiped that credit card..
The design sometimes doesn’t actually meet the purpose.
Which is the third point we’re getting into.
You must decide what is your sole purpose in getting a notebook? Is it for gaming or normal usage like writing of documents, internet surfing, etc.
This, in fact, should be your sole factor in purchasing the new and powerful machine. I would like to call it a “professional box” anyway.
From me my advice is always to put the purpose as the main priority.
The cost and design can be the follow-up importance or least (from my point of view).
I’ll be sharing more on the specification, what are the things to look out for in Part 2 of my post coming soon.
From me, stay tune to MyBoxPro.com and if you have something to say… just leave your comments below.
