DIY Laptop System Backup
Some of might have new laptops recently and might be surprised that you are not given any cds from your operating system.
This happens and is something quite normally …… so to speak.
It is something not out of the blue as certain manufacturers are cutting down their own cost by placing the operating as restoration backup at the D drive, something I find absolutely ridiculous.
One common brand is HP or Compaq ( which is now a sister company of HP) .
Hey, I’m not try to blast companies here but sometimes you may wonder what if the hard disk itself is faulty. How are you going to recover the operating system from there?

When it comes to backing up operating system or creating your own DIY restoration CDs/DVD, OEM systems like those from HP and Compaq will have their own utilities to perform such action. Normally this will be featured in their respective manuals online which I doubt the average user will know about that either.
Manuals are now digitalized unlike those days when we received stacks of hard-copy manuals (book form).
It is important to keep those restoration CDs/DVD in a safe place as you might not know when a corruption to the system can happen. This can happens to any operating system (Windows, Mac or Linux). I’ve tasted all of them and it felt terrible when performing the restoration
.
For data it will be easier to back them up using Knoppix Linux as I previously posted about.
Better to do a DIY restore media now when the system is fresh rather than later when bad symptoms (like BSOD or fatal errors) start to occur.
As there’s a saying goes ….. “Always stand by an umbrella before it started to rain”
Till the next post ….. drop me a comment … Luv to hear from you
