Vista Secrets Here!

Vista Is Still Here To Stay (Too Bad)

Filed Under (Notebook Operating System, Notebook Talk) by Mohd Fauzi A Rahman on 01-05-2008

Hi & Welcome to Laptop Info Today. Get Info on notebooks and notebook news that concern you. Enter your e-mail address to receive a free gift or you can subscribe to my RSS feeds for more updates. Hope you enjoy your visit and come back often for more news updates, gifts and downloads.

With news looming on the next Windows Operating System, codenamed “Windows 7“, I’ll not banking on Microsoft to cash successfully in this one either.

Lets face it.

Windows Vista is still buggy and all new laptops purchases comes with the new Windows Vista Operating Systems ( whichever versions or editions that may be).

Anyway or anyhow more users are currently using this software while majority still resisting and choose to remain with the vulnerable Windows XP systems.

My Question…..

What make you think Windows 7 will be a success?

Even the release of the Windows Vista Service Pack 1 is kept at a very low profile, unlike XP’s Service Pack 2 release.

With disadvantages aside, I still believe WIndows Vista is, nonetheless, a very good operating system.

It will still take time for people to adapt to the changes and hopefully this can happen sooner rather than later in the future.

Custom Declare Your Laptop Contents

Filed Under (Notebook News, Notebook Talk) by Mohd Fauzi A Rahman on 23-04-2008

Although it sounds pathetically insane but that is what is currently practiced by custom officers at the Los Angeles International Airport.

Sadly to say, it is a matter of privacy intervention from my point of view.

As in the state’s latest ruling handed down yesterday by the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco, it will authorize airport searches to be conducted on any electronic devices such as cellphones, laptops, etc.

This rule came about search-and-seizure case when a U.S. Customs inspector found child porn on a laptop belonging to an O.C. resident Michael Arnold when he passed through LAX in 2005 after a trip to the Philippines.

A black ink has definitely pollute the clear water and because of this stupid issue people traveling will have to accommodate these sets of problems.

So far it has been implemented in Los Angeles …. and God knows where else this insane practice is going to be implemented next.

Drop me a comment cause I find this absolutely NUTS!

Laptop Users Good Practise (Part 1)

Filed Under (Notebook Talk, Notebook Tip) by Mohd Fauzi A Rahman on 14-04-2008

It is true ….. it’s damn true (Hey I’m not a mimic Kurt Angel infamous phrase am I? :D )

Anyway here’s the truth.

We, laptop users - myself included, need to give us time for some breaks as and when neccessary; while working our heart and soul for long hours while using the laptop.

This good practice applies to those using the desktops as well ……

What type of break, you might wonder?

Stretching yourself is a good start.

I say ….. after every 30 to 45 minutes on the laptop, you must make it a habit to stretch yourself.

This will improve your mind and allows good blood circulation to the laptop users while working long hours  (and hopefully remains fresh) when using the laptop, be it for work or play.

By doing some of these neck stretching exercises,  you’ll be surprised that you feel better and NOT tired after that.

Try it ….. and I’ll be back soon to give more laptop good practices so you will enjoy your time working on your laptop.

Mahalo : A New Social Search Engine

Filed Under (Notebook Reviews, Notebook Talk) by Mohd Fauzi A Rahman on 09-04-2008

Web 2.0 is nothing new in the online world especially working with your laptop (how comfy :) )

But a Web 2.0 with search engine (like google) capabilities?

Well that’s something new.

Introducing Mahalo …… a new and social (web 2.0 style) search engine.

Being new to the scene, Mahalo is not as big as the current big giants like Google, Yahoo or MSN but their catch phrase attracts me.

Mahalo : Human Powered Search (We’re here to help) tells you how friendly their service can be as compared to the big players out in the online world.

You can gather as much information you want from News, Videos, How To Tutorials and many more at the Mahalo homepage.

It’s one of the friendliest search engine around, you can even create your own account even!

To check out Mahalo Search Engine, visit Mahalo.com for more information.

April Has Not Been Fun For The Laptop Guy

Filed Under (Notebook Talk) by Mohd Fauzi A Rahman on 03-04-2008

Everybody might be wondering whether I will be doing an April Fool’s post.

Well not really, not at all to be exact.

Frankly, it’s depressing and not-so motivational week at all for me.

Anyway this is how I started the week …..

As usual, I normally geared up for work ….. willingly and happily.

Unfortunately this week has been ultra SUCKS, the one I wish to forget rather quickly.

On Monday, my colleague (someone I’m charged of) blew up a desktop power supply. The next day, it’s me that blew up another power supply. Some people might think it’s an April Fool’s joke by me blowing up a power supply but in my head, I kept saying “Damn this SUCKS!”

An online meeting I was planning to organize and scheduled in the evening, but 2 out 6 members turn up for the meeting.

The following day I got screwed myself at work for no reason ….. Double whammer for me …… Totally pissed off,  I was trying my best to control my temper which I managed quite well, I think.

Today, I had understand a problem related to Microsoft FoxPro and barcode printer equipment. In the end, I had to “F” that bloody desktop.

With all these unnecessary stress and peer-pressure, it seems the week is a long wait for it to end. Hopefully the weekend which is coming (GOD make it quick) will provide some tranquility and peace of mind for this stress-up laptop geek.

It’s been swell and I must apologize for the harsh words I used for this post ( cause it’s the only way I can let it out from my cramped mind :P ).

Hope anybody won’t mind this post at all, cause it’s simply NOT laptop related!

Laptop Essential Series : Bluetooth

Filed Under (Notebook Hardware, Notebook Reviews, Notebook Talk) by Mohd Fauzi A Rahman on 31-03-2008

Its been quite a while since I post anything directly related to laptops, pardon me ya’ all.

It’s also been quite sometime since I post my laptop essential series since the first being the in-built webcam and the second one being the in-built wireless adapter (or wifi).

Today I will be talking about another essential element that can be found in today’s laptops : The Bluetooth technology.

I remember back then, when bluetooth technology just kicked off, people are packing IT shops getting the craze item at the time; the bluetooth wireless adapter for laptops and mind you it’s not cheap.

Now why a laptop with bluetooth technology is essential.

Laptop Info Today Spammed!

Filed Under (Notebook News, Notebook Talk) by Mohd Fauzi A Rahman on 27-03-2008

I feel very wired this week, my blog “Laptop Info Today” has been hit by numerous spam comments from almost any hour of the day.

Actually I did not want to let go this post, but what the hell.

It’s been quite hectic, an average of 5 spam comments have hit this blog everyday for the past week.

Spam comments is nothing new to the Web 2.0 community and I was lucky enough to install akismet plugin before it really hit me bad.

Anybody facing this experience ….  drop me a comment ( and pls no spam :) )

My Stress Relieving Laptop

Filed Under (Notebook Talk, Notebook Video) by Mohd Fauzi A Rahman on 25-03-2008

First of all, I have to have my laptop to thank for relieving my stress today.

Hey, why not?

I was entirely busy at work, got hardly to sit down for even 10 minutes even (hard to handle so many PC jobs and requests).

Entirely bad day, not really.

I was scrolling around you tube and bumped back to one of my favorite tracks back in tose days.

Well, don’t ask me what it means ….. I’m quite nuts about the lyrics but the tune relieves my aching stress headaches fast…..

I enjoy this video very much(till now even) ….. and I hope you will too.

You need to a flashplayer enabled browser to view this YouTube video

Gosh …. how I still miss those days.
