I’m back with the number 2 of this series and as we are moving closer to number 1, just a sneek peek on what is upcoming on Laptop Info Today.

There will be new products that I’ll be reviewing within the next couple of months so you might want to subscribe to my RSS feed to get the latest information or updates of the new and upcoming posts via RSS.

As ever the PC show 2008 is coming to town (12 till 15 June 2008).

As always I’ll be covering that as well and judging by the overwhelming response I had received ( a staggering 200 odd visitors per day on this site), you bet I’ll be covering more tips on how to make the event work to your advantage.

Also there will be an “Izzy Rocks” column at the end of every post from now on. This is my personal opinion and comments after my overall review which you may or not find it useful. Generally it is un-bias opinion that’s all.

Now let’s get back to the topic which I’m reviewing today which is the number 2 laptop that is budgeted below the $1K value.

If you are familiar with Laptop branding, you will find this brand very familiar. It has to be because it is one of the largest notebook making companies in the world and being at number 2 it is not very surprising according to my standards :D .

What notebook brand am I talking about?

Laptop RAM Upgrade Important Tips

Filed Under (Notebook Hardware, Notebook Tip) by Mohd Fauzi A Rahman on 22-04-2008

A few of my friends kept asking me to put this post online and now it is finally up.

What are the things you need to consider when performing a RAM upgrade?

This is the common question and sadly enough more than 50% of the time, users mistaken bought the wrong RAM module, when back to the shop for and exchange and end having an argument with the retail store owner if they refuse to oblige to you.

Time consuming is one bad factor, end up with a nasty debate another.

I will share you some tips as to what are the important facts to look out for before doing an upgrade.

Filed Under (Notebook Hardware, Notebook Reviews, Notebook Talk) by Mohd Fauzi A Rahman on 31-03-2008

Its been quite a while since I post anything directly related to laptops, pardon me ya’ all.

It’s also been quite sometime since I post my laptop essential series since the first being the in-built webcam and the second one being the in-built wireless adapter (or wifi).

Today I will be talking about another essential element that can be found in today’s laptops : The Bluetooth technology.

I remember back then, when bluetooth technology just kicked off, people are packing IT shops getting the craze item at the time; the bluetooth wireless adapter for laptops and mind you it’s not cheap.

Now why a laptop with bluetooth technology is essential.

I Sold 2 NEC E6300 Laptops!

Filed Under (Notebook Events, Notebook Hardware, Notebook Money, Notebook Operating System, Notebook Reviews, Notebook Talk) by Mohd Fauzi A Rahman on 11-03-2008

Well not really though.

I had 2 working colleagues of mine who wanted to get themselves a personal laptop and need me to be their adviser. ( :) I feel like a V.I.P somehow)

Anyway I’ve been going through the lists of brochures from all the booths ….. and boy it’s hard to make a decision, mind you.

Normally I will narrow down to 3 models based the value-for-money criteria due to the fact my friends aren’t gamers and they are basically getting a new notebook for surfing for office work purposes.

I had to bring my 3 year old son along on that day which were packed with enthusiastic buyers gunning for the bargain items on display. Then after much research I had recommended both my friends the NEC E6300 notebook.

Check out the specs below:-

Intel Centrino Duo CPU processing at 2.0GHz, 160GB of Hard disk space, 3GB Ram (after free upgrade), 2.0 megapixels in-built webcam, Bluetooth and Wireless (G) networking built-in, interactive touchpad & hotkeys, DVD-Dual Layer built in and it comes with Windows Vista Home Premium operating system.

Well the shock part is, this 14.1 inch notebook that weighs about 2.38kg cost about SGD$1499.

And that’s not all, apart from its white-leathery finishing on the back of the LCD, it comes together with freebies such as cleaning kit, an optical mouse, a NEC laptop bag and a free one-year subscription of Norman anti-virus.

I’m pleased that my friends were happy on that day, and why not they got a steal of a deal!

My son and I also enjoy the atmosphere very much on that day ….. and it’s been quite an experience.

IT Show 2008 : The Day I Step In

Filed Under (Notebook Events, Notebook Hardware, Notebook Talk) by Mohd Fauzi A Rahman on 08-03-2008

Since the day I step into the IT Show 2008, it has been a great feeling.

Crowded as I expected as much, but the view of the laptops, gadgets and babes makes me re-energize a bit :D

Anyway, every IT show in Singapore has been a target to consumers kinda roadshow and the event pretty much says it all, ” Sale ….. Come & Buy”

Though I saw a lot of part-timer students as sales-representatives, I have to give them a big credit doing the work and facing some picky customers along the way.

Well these guys or gals are part-timers and some might not be tech-savvy, mind you.

So it’s better to plan what you getting and go and get them (fast and furious :) )

Well to get the complete coverage click on the Toshiba babes for Part 1 & the LG Babe for Part 2.

Enjoy ……………

Hey guys….. I’m perspiring already :D

Laptop Shoot Out At The IT Show 2008

Filed Under (Notebook Events, Notebook Hardware, Notebook Talk) by Mohd Fauzi A Rahman on 28-02-2008

Yes, that’s right.

Laptop manufacturers are gunning it again this time as the IT Show fair starts next week 6 till 9 March 2008.

As expected the notebook computer sector will drive consumers in numbers as popular brands like Fujitsu, Acer, Apple, MSI, Lenovo, LG, HP and Asus will be there to showcase their top-end and bargain notebooks at astounding prices.

What I’ll be checking out has definately be the MSI GX600 (which I previously reviewed), the first time ever appear on this Lion City.

Not to miss are brands like Apple ….. showcasing the MacBook Air (the world’s thinnest notebook) at a very special price!

For more information, you can check Hardwarezone Preview for the upcoming event.
