Sitex 2007 will open its doors tomorrow and bet you gonna see lots and lots of people rushing down like the world’s gonna crash down on top of you or something :) .

And for those who are not sure what is installed for tomorrow’s (till 2 Dec) , here are some of the snippets that you gonna get..

As expected lots of discounted goodies and gadgets that will come in to the event.

My tips on surviving the aftermath (Sitex 2007) :-

    1) Always go to such an event with a buddy or in a group.

    2) Observe and collect as many brochures as possible (within the first hour - do not make purchases during the first 30 minutes unless you are very sure what you want to get).

    3) Sit down in a small corner and observe the brochures; make comparison and decide the best bargain for you. Call your personal experts to know more on a particular product, if necessary.

    4) Don’t be fooled by sales-personnel sweet talking. Most are part timers anyway and worse still some might not really know what are the features of the products that are being offered.

    5) Long crowds queue - a definite no….no….. unless you got the time .

Now lets’s look at the preview snippets……..

Filed Under (Notebook Hardware) by Mohd Fauzi A Rahman on 26-11-2007

As we all know the notebook computer is the new necessity of today’s modern and robust environment.

With our home living looks to become like a cubicle sometimes, I believe the age of notebook is getting bright.

    Why?

It used to be a 70% to 30% difference between the desktop as compared to the notebook computer.

Now ….. it may the opposite.

    LoJack For Laptop

Filed Under (Notebook Security, Notebook Software) by Mohd Fauzi A Rahman on 22-11-2007

I was just checking a friend’s newly bought Dell notebook recently when I saw something which actually excites me.

There was this software called “LoJack for Laptop” on my friend’s notebook.

For all we know, “Lojack” is a company which delivers vehicle recovery system, which simply means if your car is stolen … the authorities will be able to track and recover the stolen or missing vehicle via their LoJack systems.

But what does it all got to do with notebooks.

After doing some research, I found out that Dell computers is the only company that implements LoJack for Laptops.

It means that a software is implant in the notebook and if there is a possibility that notebook is being stolen or lost …. Dell can actually traced the whereabout of the notebook via the internet.

Check out this video below for a better explaination ….. (This video is brought to you courtesy of Dell Computers)

You need to a flashplayer enabled browser to view this YouTube video
As I always say …. “Keep your professional boxes safe and secure” (with or without LoJack)…… The notebook is your jewel…. :)

    Yet Another Mouse …..For Laptop?

Filed Under (Notebook Hardware) by Mohd Fauzi A Rahman on 15-11-2007

Since I’m going mice crazy this week …… might as well as have yet another mouse review.

Creative Technology has always been known as the “Sound Specialist” but mice….. well …..

I came across this mouse and decide to give a review on it.

The Creative Fatal1ty series have came up with 2 models - the 1010 and the 2020 .

Both 1010 and 2020 look the same in model design…… it’s only the specs that is a bit of a difference….

Razer ….. Laptop User’s Fetish Item

Filed Under (Notebook Hardware, Notebook Reviews) by Mohd Fauzi A Rahman on 14-11-2007

I’m not talking sexual in nature here…….

But Razer has produce mice in unquestionable standards even though most of the mice they’ve manufactured are corded.

With high precision response …… this is the “Shangri-La” for the gaming community.

Though many would question whether Razer’s mice are suited for the notebook, well …. it suit just fine…

Next Generation Laptop Users Prefer Bluetooth Mouse?

Filed Under (Notebook Hardware) by Mohd Fauzi A Rahman on 12-11-2007

    Well is it so?

I was just thinking about this when I’m using my newly bought cordless mouse, the Logitech V220.

With cordless mouse, we still need to hook on the USB key via the USB port. If the user is careless enough to loose the key, then the cordless mouse may not be such a good investment after all.

That is where the next-generation mouse comes in.

Bluetooth technology is nothing new to us.

In fact, Bluetooth technology existed in our personal equipments like the notebook computer, our mobile phone, etc.

One thing about Bluetooth where users tend to stay away ….. the cost factor.

For me personally, a Human Interface Device that will cost me nearly US$50….. man ….. that’s scary.

    But the advantages is awesome….

Laptop Cordless Mouse : A Good Invesment?

Filed Under (Notebook Hardware, Notebook Reviews) by Mohd Fauzi A Rahman on 11-11-2007

Well being a tech geeky, I’ve been changing my gears quite a lot recently and I believed on of my well-spent investment is the cordless mouse.

    Why?

I was at an Internet community gathering yesterday and I was observing the rest of my friends out there with their ultra powerful notebook computers and sadly enough their ultra-long wired corded mice.

You’ve might think I’m looking down on them ……

    Seriously that’s not the case.

    Let me explain………

Laptop Screen : Does Size Matters?

Filed Under (Notebook Hardware) by Mohd Fauzi A Rahman on 10-11-2007

When getting yourself a new notebook, i saw a lot of users blinded by the features, cost and looks of a notebook computer.

    Who doesn’t ?

Its utterly normal when you go to the shopping mall or any electronics trade fairs that the first things the sales people will show you are the features, the cost and the looks.

    But what about the size?

I’ll be very frank to tell you that size does matters…

    Why?

The bigger the notebook (example a 15.4 widescreen notebook LCD), the heavier it gets.

Unless you using the notebook computer as a desktop replacement which will remain at one location at your home …. then a 15.4 or a 17 inch notebook will suit you fine.

Imagine going to one place to another carrying a 17 inch notebook computer on your shoulders! Damn!

So remember….. size does matters when you buy a notebook. Till next time folks …… Rock Forever…….
